Welcome message
Welcome to the People, Places and Health research group based at the University of Toronto – Mississauga (UTM). I am Dr. Vincent Kuuire, lead of the PPH research group. I am an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Immigrant Wellbeing and Global Health. My primary appointment is in the department of Geography, Geomatics and Environment and I hold a cross-appointment in the Social and Behavioural Health Sciences Division at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto – St. George. Together my trainees and I work on various topics ranging from immigrant health and wellbeing, immigrants and urban planning, health disparities, healthcare access, environment and health connections and global health. Our projects employ both qualitative and quantitative approaches and our current research sites are in North America (Canada) and Africa (Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Rwanda, etc.). Collaborations are highly valued in my research group, and I encourage you to connect if you’re interested in joining my group or working with us.
